My trip to Los Angeles & Las Vegas

Left Singapore on a morning flight and took a transit at Hong Kong. Luckily the Cathay plane to L.A was spacious and has movie/game entertainment, if not I will keep whining. After all we are seated for more then 10 hours, so I will be damn grumpy if its all squeezy and stuffy.

Day 1

Arrived at L.A and I spotted Sheldon because he shaved his head so clean that its shines among the crowd. But I guess he already saw me before I saw him as he was moving across the crowd to get to me. When we finally met face to face, he hugged me so tight that I couldn't breathe. And the first thing I said was "I want to smoke".

Outside L.A airport.

We then took a super shutter which cost 16USD per head to our hotel-Travelodge Hollywood.
On the way to our hotel, from far, I finally get to see the sign I always see on TV.
Didn't manage to take a clear picture as the car was moving fast and trees covered it when we tried to snap a picture.

At our hotel.
Bath taken and time to go out and explore the city.

We went to the famous street called Walk of Fame.
Along the pavement, you will see stars embedded on the ground with famous celebrities name on it, not only human, but frictional ones too. Jackie Chan is also on one of the stars! He is quite a famous guy in Hollywood.

Along the busy street, there are pushcarts, performers, street dancers and lots and lots of mascots!

The first I saw was Spongebob!
And fuck this spongebob. Cost me 5USD to take 1 picture with him.

This one is free of charge, don't have to tip him for photo taking.

After walking around, we decided to head to Madame Tussauds-famous for her wax sculpture
Took tons of pictures to make the entrance fees worthwhile.

The first sculpture I saw was Obama! Standing near the entrance welcoming us.

I like this piano!
If I'm rich enough in future, I want a 3 legged piano that is made of crystal glass to be displayed in my living room. And that is of cos if I can afford to stay in a house bigger or equivalent to a Semi D. (what!? Dream also cannot meh?)

Big Snoop Dog.

Will Smith.

Charlie Chaplin. I never liked his stupid mustache.

Let the Red Sea part!
The oldest historical person in the museum, Moses.

The black, Paula and Simon.

Trying to imitate what Paula always does.

Shrek!

Kobe Bryant. He's an asshole!

Go Spidey!

Vroom Vroom!!!

My index finger is the longest! I'm a freak!

Among all the pictures taken in the museum, this is my favorite.
(Told you Mr. Big Nose is famous in Hollywood)

Iron man.

Yawns... I am suppose to be pretending to make a speech for some Oscar award or something but can't be assed to do so as I'm tired already.

And so, we left and hunt for places to drink. The first pub was call Power House. I was attracted by its name hence, we went in and have a drink but its very different from Singapore's Power House. Its not even a club, but its a great chill out place.

Had America beer bud light.
I saw the advertisement for this bud light beer on Tv and the slogan is something like 'not too light, not too heavy, Chose bud light'. Crappy and no link -_-" Beer was not bad though.

I like this photo. Sheldon looking all goofy goofy touching his head. He look like an old man! So blur and cute!

After that we went pub hoping and the last pub was called Geisha house.
The group.

I tried Sake for the first time and it feels so dry in the throat. Yucks!
After all the drinking, we took a cab back to our hotel and rest for the next day's adventure.

Day 2

I'm going to Disney Land!!! Happiness~

But how to go? Lol

We took a train and bus ride of 1 hour plus and when I wake up, my Goddamn eye is swollen. So frustrating can! During the whole trip, my eye had been swelling up and down for some God knows reason. And I don't know what the hell I'm allergic to. So the most sensible reason we could think of is I'm allergic to dust. WTF right? Then I have to take all my pictures in Disney Land with 1 swollen eye and pathetically edit my eye in the pictures I took before uploading them to my website. zzz

But its alright! Because when I reached Disney Land, I threw all my troubles away!

Using the e ticket to exchange for this tickets.

I'm a happy girl.

After having our lunch, we started exploring the place. It was damn packed! Everything must Q-up for damn long. ARG!!!

And I think Sheldon was a bit pissed off by me because by then, I was like floating in my own world, in awe of Disney land and drifting away myself. And because its damn packed, and I don't have a cellphone, he's afraid that I might get lost. He repeatedly called out on me but I din't hear him and when I finally did, he was already kinda pissed.

Disney land has 8 sections: The main street, Adventure land, New Orleans sq, Frontier land, Critter country, Fantasy land, Mickey's toon town and tomorrow's land.
Every night, there will be beautiful fireworks but too bad we didn't manage to catch it as it was so damn pack and we our feet were all tired after a day's journey.

The section I love the most, Mickey's toon town!

Chip and Dale's crib.

Their apparels are all so cute!

And then its finally time to take picture with Mickey mouse!
We entered 'Mickey's house' (Q super long) for a walk.
Outside Mickey's house.

Mickey's sofa.

I can't believe the initial plushie look so hideous!

Pluto's kennel

And after God knows how long, I finally got to take pictures with the love of my life.
Joyful with glee~

goofing around.

This is a famous snack there. Its a long stick of bread-like thingy with sugar icings. Sheldon totally love it and he's so fat already. *shakes head*

Soon it's evening and the sky begun to darken.
Don't you just love the colours of the sky?

So sad to leave Disney land. =(

Roast pig.

After a filling dinner, we went to an Irish pub and drink.

Day 3

We're going to VEGAS!!!

Waiting for the bus to airport.

Waiting for the flight to Vegas. I hate to wait!

After a 45mins flight, we step in to Vegas. The jackpots in the airport shows it all.

So we decided to rent a Limousine to explore the city a little and get back to the hotel.
78USD per hour. (tips not included yet)
But I think its still alright cos we split it among ourselves.

I felt like smoking so I asked Sheldon "hey do you think we can smoke in the car?"
Then he answered "don't try la dear."
(Some ang mo are very intolerant to smokers)
So I asked our driver if we can smoke and she said "go ahead!"
Haha so we all started smoking in the car thanks to me.
Moral of the story: Don't ask, never know.

Me happily 'keow ka' on the window.

The buildings:

The 'cheong' Eiffel tower in Vegas

After touring the city for awhile, we reach our hotel-Luxor.
Love this picture!

The structure of Luxor hotel is a pyramid. So cool right?

(pictures from luxor.com)
And when you are out at the city at night, you don't have to fear losing you way because you can see your hotel building and just follow the way. (If your are staying in a grand hotel)
But our pyramid hotel isn't as tall as other hotel because of its special structure. So the brilliant designers put a beam of light at the pit of the hotel. Hence, we just have to follow the light.

Our room:
The designs on the wall and furniture really feels Egyptian-ish.

After we settle down, night begun to fall and we went out for dinner.

There are lots of wedding chapel on streets.

We were caught off guard during the first night of Vegas. The weather is damn fucking cold la! We kept getting froze bites(really painful) and my hands and face went numb. I'm so worried that my nose is going to drop.

And there's this one point of time, the wind was so super duper strong that it blew me to the fencing by the side and pinned me there. I can't move forward la! So scary... =(
And Sheldon still laughed at me and made jokes out of it.
He wanted to tell his mum "Mummy, u know hor, the wind here so strong that it almost blow Yiru away leh."

Day 4

Got clever this time and geared up! Wore two layer of inner wear before wearing my jeans. wore a inner singlet, a long sleeve top plus a winter jacket. Gloves are wore whenever its cold.

Went to the premium outlet stores and saw so many brands I like. But why am I being deprived of choices because I'm slim?!? I chiong to the Armani exchange store excitedly just to find out that there's isn't much S/XS sizes. !@#$%^&*(
So most of the clothes and shirt I bought are for my friends.

The only thing I got for myself is a clubbing top and a Burberry wallet. Love my Burberry wallet! Baby Shelly offered to pay for it as a additional Christmas present for me.

Went for Sushi buffet after a tired day of shopping.

Day 5

Its Christmas eve! Dressed up and went to New York New York hotel for lunch.

The entrance to Ny.
Statue of liberty (cheong want)

While waiting for lunch.

The special thing about this hotel is that it has an outdoor roller coaster ride surrounding its building.
This is the description:
"The Roller Coaster will lift you up 203 feet, drop you down 144 feet and leave your pulse trying to catch up to 67 mph. Simulating a jet fighter's barrel roll, you'll turn 180 degrees, hang 86 feet in the air, take the famous "heartline" twist and dive, and get your negative g's on! Ah, what a rush."
Mad Insanity!

Sheldon is one of those guys that are really afraid to take such rides. Nevertheless, he still promised to take the ride with me.
So proud of him!
As we were Queuing up for the ride, his hands turned super cold and his face all pale. I thought he's gonna piss his pants. LOL Can see that he is really scared while I'm jumping around all excited to roll.

Finally its our turn. As the roller coaster goes up and reaches its peak, Sheldon held my hand so freaking tightly that I can't feel my hand after a few seconds. But its alright. Haha! We passed the worst, the loops and the 180 degree turn and was gonna reach the end when Sheldon asked me ever so cutely "Have we passed the loop?" (-_-")

When we got off the seats, I told him, "you are alive."
Think he's kind of affected by the show 'final destination 2'

After the ride, we walked around the busy city.

Series of candid:
Looking around.

Spotted something!

Look look!!!

Lol... That's the thing I was so fascinated by.

Everywhere also got hardrock cafe.

The wind is so strong and its making my hair messy!

Sheldon and I made the same henna tattoo on the back of our palm. His with my name 'Cradle'
and mine with his name 'Shelly'

We then went to watch the water fountain by Bellagio Hotel.

The fountain starts at every top hour so we wait until we fell asleep.

Just kidding! We were only pretending to be asleep.

It feels so relaxing to watch the water dancing under the lightings synchronized with the song in the cold weather. Its just like at that instant, you have no troubles nor burden. Like you're floating on air. Love this kind of feeling.

After the show, Sheldon and I went to have a nice meal and headed back to meet the rest of the group to welcome the coming of Christmas and to celebrate one of his friend's birthday.
We walked pass a Ed hardy store and Sheldon wants a leather gloves. So I offered to buy it for him as an additional Christmas present too. Very ex!

Went to a pub with life band. There ain't much choices because most of the place are closed on the eve of Christmas and Christmas day itself.

Don't know who the hell is Bert & Keith.

The birthday boy.

His wife wanted to give him a surprise but have no idea what to do so she keep coming to me and ask me how how how. So I requested for the band to sing a birthday song and ordered a shot topped with Bacardi so that I can lit it up and let the birthday boy blow the fire off as if its from a candle. But all not before tipping the waitress 10 bucks. Spend money like drinking water like that. Tsk tsk...
Apparently, bars are not suppose to light fires on drinks. They got all sorts of funny law there.

Black Jack Machines by the bar.

So unglam!

Bud light is nice!

Party ended and we headed back to rest as we got a flight to catch the next day while the rest continued with their gambling fetish.

I'm so damn sick of casinos! Like every hotel is also a casino, everywhere i go i see jackpots. So traumatizing that when i close my eyes, the scenes of casino flashes before me.

Twistie!

This scarf is knitted for Sheldon as his Christmas present. Every time I start knitting, I thought I was going to be cock-eyed.

I don't what is wrong with Vegas! There is always so much static that each time Sheldon and I touch each other, there will be a painful slight electricity shocked kinda feeling. So irritating! I soon developed phobia of touching him or anything that's not an insulator.

Day 6

Took a flight back to L.A. and after settling down at the hotel, we went to China town for dinner. Soon it was dark and there's really nothing much going on in town as Christmas day is more of a family day. Bought 2 cartons of bud light back to the hotel room and started feasting on the beer.

We had great fun at the hotel.
Sheldon became weary and lied on the bed. On seeing that, I initiate "STACK! STACK!" Lol His friends all started pulling him and gave him some love bites. I videoed down the whole process and its damn funny! I'm a very kind person so I shall not post that video up.

The rules on train.
Note: If you talk loudly on train, you just might get fined for 250bucks

This fellow decorated his car like a moving Christmas tree.

Real fireman on the job.

Day 7

Where are we going today?

Universal Studios!

I just love that place! And also the Q for shows and rides isn't that long compared to Disney land. This trip is initially planned then canceled due to time constraint as I gotta catch the flight back to Singapore that evening. However, I insisted of going there in the morning and I'm glad we went. Although we didn't manage to watch all the shows, I had fun though!

e r
Too fast too furious.

Not sure what's inside but the name sure look homely.

First, we went to the haunted house which weren't scary at all... We were all only scared because we are afraid that some ghost will suddenly scare us which didn't happen. But we did see lots of movie poster while Q-ing up. It sure brings back lots of memory like Chucky, Frankenstein, and several others that were suppose to be the scariest movie of all time.

Next, we went to watch the show terminator2 in 3D. It was good.

The hottest ride of the year-The Simpsons ride.
Its a motioned ride and its just visually stunning! Its somehow trilling and funny. 2 thumbs up!

The theme park is located uphill so this is the view from the top. Like you can see the whole city of L.A.
Next up, we went to take the Jurassic park ride. I just love how they design the whole ride experience though its only for a few mins.
There's T-rex and stuff and before you know it, the 'raft' we are seated on came falling downwards. I know Sheldon hate that feeling.
After Jurassic park, we went for The mummy ride. Many unexpected twist and turn. Super fun!

At the back draft, we get to see how actors film their shows in blazing fire and heat.
The whole room smelled of gas.

The last show of the day is Shrek 4D. A little kiddish I find.

All along, I thought this hoodie is like a bear ear until one day, Sheldon's friend commented that I'm a sheep. -_-

Finally! Its time to head back to Singapore.
I had lots of fun.
